The School Grouping of Sardoal started today with the new school year counting 515 students, six more than the previous year. The Education Councilor of the Municipal Council of Sardoal considered this growth as "slight," although the trend of increasing school population is creating needs regarding physical spaces.
The school has been registering sustained growth in recent years, going from 468 students in 2021 to 509 at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year. This progressive increase has been particularly felt in the 1st cycle, which is at the limit of its capacity.
Given this situation, the municipality of Sardoal faces the challenge of guaranteeing adequate space conditions to welcome all students, especially in the 1st cycle basic education classes. The growth of the school population reflects a trend that has been closely monitored by local educational authorities.
