Minister Flávio Dino asked the Federal Supreme Court to investigate a meeting between colleague André Mendonça and businessman Daniel Vorcaro, held on March 14, 2025 at the headquarters of Instituto Iter in São Paulo. In the decision this Tuesday, Dino suggests that Mendonça lied about the subject of the conversation. In a press statement, the rapporteur of the Master Case stated that the subject was the suspension of provisional guardianship 976, which dealt with precatório credits of interest to Master, stating that his jurisdictional action was contrary to the position advocated by the businessman.
The minister challenged this version with a timeline. The day after the meeting, March 15, Mendonça requested a view and paralyzed the trial of a dispute about the privatization of cemeteries in São Paulo, in which Master had significant interests. On April 4, the minister opened a divergence against a decision by Dino that suspended the concessions, voting in accordance with the demands of private cemeteries, according to the account.
The case involves the Master company and its precatório credits, as well as disputes over cemetery concessions. The controversy centers on a possible connection between the meeting and Mendonça's subsequent judicial decisions, which, according to Dino, contradict the official version presented by his colleague about the subjects discussed.
