The pizzaiolo Danilo Jander Francisco Alves, 26 years old, remains in critical condition at Hospital estadual Azevedo Lima after being shot in the head during a police approach in Icaraí, Niterói, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio, last Saturday.
The shot was fired by a sergeant from the Shock Police Battalion (BPChq) who was working for the Segurança Presente program. The officer was arrested at the scene and will face charges for attempted homicide.
Danilo was riding his motorcycle along Rua Mariz e Barros, heading to the restaurant where he works, when he was approached by the police officers. Security camera footage shows the moment he slows down and, in just five seconds, is hit by the shot to the head.
