Pedro Passos Coelho reappeared publicly to call for the acceleration of reforms within the PSD. The former prime minister and former party leader addressed Luís Montenegro directly, the current social-democrat leader, during a Political Commission.
In his intervention, Passos Coelho spoke about what he designated as "wonderland," in a reference to his governance and the period when he was at the head of the party and government.
The moment marks a return of Passos Coelho to the internal political life of the PSD, choosing to use a Political Commission to transmit his recommendations on the direction the party should follow.
The former prime minister's intervention comes at a time when Montenegro seeks to assert the party's leadership and define the opposition strategy to the government.
