The Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) launched a new episode of its podcast "Para Bom Entendedor", dedicated to the topic of digital scams and fraud. This is the 26th episode of the series, which aims to contribute to greater information and awareness among investors regarding the risks associated with digital crime in the financial sector.
The episode features Catarina Ferraz, Coordinator of the Department of On-site Supervision and Investigation at CMVM, and Daniel Silva, Chief Inspector of the National Unit for Combating Cybercrime and Technological Criminality at the Judicial Police. Both experts analyze the most frequent fraud situations and the challenges in combating this type of criminality.
With the growing digitalization of financial services, fraudulent schemes have also become more sophisticated. Investors are frequently targeted by scams through websites, social media, messages and contacts that appear legitimate, making it difficult to identify potentially fraudulent situations.
The podcast highlights the importance of prevention and financial literacy as essential tools for investors to recognize and avoid digital fraud.
