The dean of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Gilmar Mendes, told CNN that he does not believe in a quick conclusion of the trial that will determine whether an investigation will be opened regarding colleague Alexandre de Moraes. According to him, the issue to be addressed by the ministers is "too complex to finish today."
The session began with Minister Edson Fachin's reading of Luciano Vorcaro's messages, and Minister Flavio Dino voted after the rapporteur.
According to CNN, Gilmar Mendes advocates behind the scenes for a debate on the way Minister André Mendonça conducted the investigation against Alexandre de Moraes.
The ministers Flavio Dino and Cristiano Zanin hold the same views, pointing out that Mendonça committed illegalities motivated by electoral proximity, since the damage to Moraes — rapporteur of the coup plot case that led to Jair Bolsonaro's conviction — tends to harm presidential ambitions.
