The Minister of Education, Fernando Alexandre, ordered the opening of an inquiry to investigate schools that refused students. The measure comes after the minister requested explanations from the institutions involved.
The General Inspectorate of Education and Science (IGEC) was tasked with conducting the inquiry to determine the reasons that led schools to refuse students, when they allegedly had the capacity to receive them.
Fernando Alexandre mentioned that he had already requested explanations from the schools in question before ordering the formal investigation by IGEC. The minister did not specify how many schools were involved or in which region of the country the situation occurred.
