Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), responded to the Court president, Edson Fachin, and denied irregularities in the conduct of the investigation that targeted Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master case, determined that the Federal Police produce a report to identify the interlocutor of dialogues with banker Daniel Vorcaro, who ended up being identified as Moraes.
In an official letter sent to Fachin on Monday night, Mendonça stated that the determination for the Federal Police to identify the people mentioned in the document occurred within the scope of judicial supervision of the investigation, aiming to preserve the secrecy and efficiency of the investigations.
The document was sent on the eve of the extraordinary session scheduled for Tuesday morning (15th), when the STF plenary was to analyze the Federal Police report and decide on the possibility of opening an investigation involving Moraes.
The controversy began after Mendonça removed the secrecy classification from documents related to the case.
