Volker Turk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, issued a warning about the risks that the rapid development of artificial intelligence represents for people's fundamental rights.
According to Turk, no person should be forced to give up their human rights in exchange for promises of technological progress.
The high commissioner warned that the accelerated development of artificial intelligence is creating risks for fundamental rights, including privacy, health, security and access to essential services.
