Public investment in housing in Madeira should continue beyond the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), through the Regional Budget and instruments such as Madeira 2030 and the 1.º Direito program. The guarantee was given on Tuesday by Pedro Rodrigues, during the parliamentary sessions of PSD/Madeira.
In his speech, Pedro Rodrigues noted that the Region has approximately 130,000 dwellings for roughly 95,000 households, but estimated that around 7,000 families would need housing support. This disparity between the number of homes and the population's needs was one of the points highlighted by the official.
PSD/Madeira thus advocates for the continuity of public investment in the housing sector, diversifying funding sources to ensure that support programs are not dependent on a single European instrument. This strategy aims to ensure the sustainability of housing projects in the region.
