Two people remain missing after the heavy rains that hit the state of São Paulo over the weekend. The search continues for Mike dos Reis, a man who disappeared in the early hours of Saturday (12) during the severe storm that hit the East Zone of the capital. He was at a bar in Jardim Nair and the last images captured by security cameras show the man trying to cross a flooded street. Residents and business owners in the area say the neighborhood tends to get flooded whenever it rains heavily.
In the municipality of Jandira, in Greater São Paulo, the Fire Department is also continuing its search for another victim of the flooding from last Saturday. Firefighters remain committed to monitoring the areas affected by the storms.
The state of São Paulo recorded, in September, the highest rainfall volume for the month in 83 years. Since the 1st, more than 250 millimeters of rain have been recorded in the state.
In the capital, Jardim Pantanal, also in the East Zone, continues to have flooded streets. The region has been one of the most affected by the storms that hit the state.
