The Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, today denounced Russia's "irresponsible action" after a Russian frigate fired signal flares at a helicopter over the Baltic Sea. Frederiksen said in a statement that "Russian actions aim to intimidate and sow discord," adding that "they will not succeed" and that "we will not yield."
The Danish military stated on Monday evening that a Russian warship fired two signal flares toward a helicopter operating over the Baltic Sea, off the Danish coast. The incident occurred while Denmark was participating in surveillance operations in the region.
