Pedro Sánchez's government will approve this Tuesday in a Council of Ministers a Strategic Investments Committee that will allow selected projects to obtain a first approval within one month, jumping ahead of others in obtaining authorizations or access to the electricity grid. The creation of this committee, inspired by models from the UK and France, was a promise made to investors at the beginning of the legislature, who complained about the long wait to complete the necessary authorizations. The Spanish Executive states that there is already a waiting list to access this status.
To benefit from this special regime, investments will have to provide high social, economic and environmental returns, contributing to ecological transition, digital transformation, scientific and technological development, strategic autonomy and economic security.
