The pizzaiolo Danilo Jander Francisco Alves, 26 years old, was shot in the head during a Military Police approach on Rua Mariz e Barros, in Icaraí, Niterói, on Saturday afternoon at 5:47 PM. Images from a security camera show the young man riding a motorcycle to work when two military police officers, each on a motorcycle, approached him. The young man was wearing a helmet, which according to his father, is now at home with the bullet hole.
The approach lasted only five seconds. The first police officer deployed a jet of pepper spray at the motorcyclist, who appeared to be slowing down, and almost immediately the second police officer fired a shot. Danilo fell off the motorcycle, shot in the head.
About 20 minutes after the shooting, while onlookers gathered at the crime scene, a Fire Department team arrived at the location. Danilo's health condition is considered serious.
The security camera images were obtained by GLOBO and are part of the police report. The case is being investigated by the competent authorities.
