North Korea promised "unwavering" support to Russia in what Kim Jong Un called a "sacred war" against Ukraine. In a written message, the North Korean leader expressed his will and that of his government as "firm" and "without shadow of doubt".
Kim Jong Un stated that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea wishes to "expand and comprehensively deepen joint work" with the Russian Federation. This declaration comes in the context of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing for more than two years.
North Korean support for Russia has been a constant since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022. Pyongyang has already sent thousands of fighters to fight alongside Russian forces in the Kursk region, in western Russia, and provided ballistic missiles and munitions for use on Ukrainian territory.
