The Supreme Federal Court (STF) analyzes on Tuesday the Federal Police report that identified Minister Alexandre de Moraes as an interlocutor of Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master. The session brings together in the same chamber magistrates who have taken different positions on the handling of the case, creating a scenario of possible divergences among the ministers.
The Court is currently operating with ten members, after the retirement of Luís Roberto Barroso. Among the ministers participating in the judgment are names appointed to the STF by different presidents: Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Dilma Rousseff, Jair Bolsonaro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Some ministers have already openly taken positions on the report and the material seized from Vorcaro, while others avoided anticipating how they intend to vote. This division of positions promises to make the session a moment of institutional tension.
Edson Fachin, current president of the STF since September 2025, was appointed to the court by Dilma Rousseff and joined the Court in 2015. Before joining the Supreme Court, Fachin was a lawyer, attorney for the State of Paraná, and professor of Civil Law at the Federal University of Paraná.
