The RedBird investment fund, led by Gerry Cardinale, intends to expand its sports portfolio by acquiring a stake in Al Nassr, a club from Saudi Arabia. This operation would represent the entry of the American fund into Saudi football.
With this possible acquisition, RedBird would control three football clubs: AC Milan (known as the rossoneri), Toulouse, currently in the French Ligue 1, and Al Nassr itself.
Al Nassr currently features Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in its squad, which significantly increases the club's international visibility and the interest of major investors in the project.
This move is part of the investment fund's strategy to build a multilateral sports empire, with clubs in different European leagues and also in the competitive Saudi league.
