DSTgroup of Braga and the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (UPCA) have reinforced their eight-year partnership with an offering of seven Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP) for the 2026/2027 academic year. The second application phase runs from September 14 to 18, targeting students who have completed secondary education, professionals in retraining and workers who wish to strengthen their skills. The training lasts two years, with three semesters of theoretical and practical classes followed by one semester of curricular internship in a business context.
The seven courses co-created between academia and group companies cover strategic areas of the Portuguese economy, including construction, energy, metalworking and telecommunications. Among them are Construction Preparation and Management, Advanced Network and Telecommunications Management (in partnership with DSTelecom), Advanced Welding and Preparation and Manufacturing of Modular Structures (with bysteel), Renewable Energy and Sustainable Systems (with DSTsolar), Refrigeration and Thermal Energy Efficiency and Energy, Telecommunications and Home Automation (with DTE). This offering results from a collaboration aimed at bringing higher education closer to the real needs of companies.
José Teixeira, President of the DSTgroup Board of Directors, and Alexandra Malheiro, Rector of UPCA, highlighted the impact of these courses on professional qualification and business competitiveness, as well as their contribution to employability and to the challenges of digital transition and sustainability. The collaboration between institutions goes beyond the training offering, including the joint development of curricula, the participation of company specialists as guest lecturers and the creation of internship opportunities.
The partnership is also part of the Industrial and Digital Thought Campus, a project that brings together UPCA, DSTgroup and Amar Terra Verde Professional School to create an advanced training ecosystem oriented toward industry and innovation. The CTeSPs present high employability rates, contributing to address the demand for qualified professionals in critical areas for the Portuguese economy, and are part of a broader strategy of the DSTgroup to value people through education, training and culture.
