Deputy Cezinha de Madureira, from PL-SP, was targeted by a Federal Police operation this Monday over suspicions of influence peddling in higher courts. The operation was carried out amid the electoral period.
Through his defense, the parliamentarian stated that "no irregularity was committed" and questioned the timing of the action. The lawyers said Cezinha is at the disposal of authorities and will provide the necessary clarifications.
In a statement, the defense argues that, after having access to the investigation elements and the full case file, it will be able to demonstrate that the parliamentarian did not commit irregularities. The communication states that the deputy is certain that the facts will be duly clarified in the proper legal process.
The defense also questioned the timing of the operation, without directly attributing political motivation to the case.
