Israel is being accused of promoting a systematic "elimination" policy of the conditions that sustain the collective life of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The accusation is presented in a 249-page report prepared by the Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem, published this Monday and obtained in advance by the British newspaper The Guardian.
The document states that different sectors of the Israeli state act in a coordinated manner to make Palestinian life increasingly "fragmented, vulnerable and dependent." Among the measures cited are the intensification of violence, movement restrictions, and ethnic cleansing in the territory.
The study, titled "The Elimination Project," also points out that these actions serve to expand Jewish presence in the region through settlements, outposts, and other forms of territorial expansion in the occupied West Bank.
