EcoPay now offers cashback also to individuals who prove, through an invoice, the purchase of recyclable products from brands with recognized environmental certification or that meet the recyclability criteria defined by the platform. The consumer sends the document through the app, and the platform performs automatic reading, identifies the items and cross-references each one with an internal database of brands and products considered recyclable. If there is a match, the value is converted into credit available in EcoPay Shop, the company's online store.
The cashback mechanism, which already served legal entities, now also includes individuals, expanding operations to both audiences. The platform already worked with companies that generate and prove proper waste disposal, and now expands its reach to retail consumption.
The arrival at retail consumption also changes the company's view of the market, in the assessment of Breno Moutinho, founder and CEO of EcoPay. Until then, the operation saw the market from the supply side, made up of companies that generate and prove proper waste disposal.
