The photographer from GLOBO newspaper Alexandre Cassiano revealed the behind-the-scenes of his work during Rock in Rio, one of the largest music festivals in the world, which took place between September 4 and 13. According to him, there is an important limitation: it is only possible to photograph the first three songs of each performance, which requires planning and speed to capture the best moments.
To meet this challenge, Cassiano uses two cameras simultaneously. One is used to photograph the artists up close, capturing details and expressions, while the other is aimed at the special effects of the stages and to record the movement of the audience present at the festival.
One of the moments highlighted by the photographer was the "Péricles sings Motown" show, in which the artist went on stage wearing a cape printed with the faces of great artists. This type of visual detail is exactly what Cassiano seeks to capture in his work during the event.
Weather conditions were also an important factor during the festival. In 2026, the shows took place under rain for most of the days, which added even more challenges to the photographic documentation work of the event, which brings together major names in international and national music.
