Ciro asks to remove restrictions on BMW, jet and unlock bank accounts in exchange for R$ 19 million lots

oglobo14 September 2026 at 19:58

The defense of senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) asked Minister André Mendonça of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to remove the restrictions imposed on an aircraft, a BMW vehicle and financial assets blocked in May of this year, during an operation related to the Banco Master case. In exchange, the lawyers propose that the unavailability of goods be maintained exclusively on four lots in Teresina valued at R$ 19 million.

At the time of the operation, Mendonça determined the blocking of goods and values in the amount of R$ 18.8 million. The minister stated in the decision that Ciro Nogueira is under investigation for allegedly having acted in favor of Vorcaro and received, in return, undue advantages.

According to the defense, however, the judicial order determined the blocking of R$ 18.8 million, but ended up reaching assets of the parliamentarian in a value superior to what was established. The lawyers state that all real estate, vehicles and financial assets owned by Ciro were made unavailable.

Why this matters

Piauienses senators and politicians may be impacted by developments of the case, since Ciro Nogueira is a central figure in state politics. The STF decision on unlocking the goods may influence the final outcome of the investigation into alleged undue advantages related to Banco Master.
