Nãm's factory, a company 50% owned by Delta Ventures, has tripled its production of mushrooms cultivated from Delta coffee grounds. This expansion allows the company to gain scale in the sustainable mushroom market.
The new production unit can repurpose the equivalent of 15 million espressos per year, transforming a coffee industry waste product into a valuable food product. The process uses coffee grounds as a substrate for mushroom cultivation.
Nãm aims to become Europe's largest urban mushroom production. The business model is based on circular economy, reducing waste and creating a sustainable production cycle.
The partnership with Delta allows the company to have continuous access to coffee grounds, a raw material that would normally be discarded.
