The Superior Labor Court decided that Correios workers on strike must maintain 80% of staff active during the stoppage. The percentage must be met in each unit, considering shift and operational activity. The measure covers service units, treatment, transport, distribution, and also essential administrative and support areas for service continuity.
The decision partially meets a request from Correios, which also requested that the strike be considered abusive. The company filed an action at the TST after failing to reach an agreement with workers on salary adjustment.
The collective dispute hearing is scheduled for September 21, at 1:30 PM. Until that date, the parties may still negotiate and reach an agreement before the final decision.
To reduce the impacts of the stoppage, Correios reported that it has adopted measures such as relocating administrative staff to operational areas, using additional vehicles, and other strategies to keep services running.
