A Quaest poll released this Monday revealed that voter distrust in relation to the Supreme Federal Court increased ten percentage points amid an internal crisis in the Court. The survey, commissioned by GLOBO and TV Globo, showed that 56% of respondents said they "do not trust" the STF, while 9% stated they "trust a lot" and 30% responded they "trust a little" in the institution.
The conflict involving ministers Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça appears as the backdrop for this decline in trust. In August, before the outbreak of the crisis, 46% of respondents stated they did not trust the STF, 18% trusted a lot, and 33% trusted a little. The overall margin of error of the poll is two percentage points.
The survey also asked respondents about the positioning of the two ministers in the dispute. According to the poll, 37% consider that André Mendonça is acting correctly in the dispute, while 16% said that Alexandre de Moraes is the one acting correctly. The survey also registered an increase in concern about corruption for the second consecutive time, after the crisis in the Supreme and the Master case.
