PS scheduled for the end of the week an urgent debate in the Assembly of the Republic on the increase in the cost of living. The request was delivered this morning to the speaker's office of the Assembly of the Republic, thus getting ahead of the Chega party, which also intended to discuss this matter.
The debate comes following a weekend marked by exchanges of accusations between PS and Chega. The two parties publicly discussed which of them first proposed the reduction of VAT on fuels and essential goods.
The issue of taxes on fuels is thus back at the center of Portuguese political discussion, at a time when the cost of living has been a growing concern for citizens.
