The president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, stated on Sunday that he will challenge the judicial decisions that try to contain his hardline policy against crime. The rightist leads an offensive with bombings and operations against criminal groups that obtain financing from drug trafficking in the country, the world's largest producer of cocaine.
In the last month, Colombian justice determined that the government should suspend bombings if there is information about the presence of minors, remove from social media videos of corpses of alleged criminals killed by security forces, and stop aerial spraying tests of drug plantations.
The president stated that the judicial decisions are respected and that the orders in force are complied with, but that this does not mean renouncing his security policy.
