Grêmio announced on Monday the signing of coach Renato Gaúcho, a day after Luís Castro's dismissal. This is the fifth time Renato Gaúcho takes charge of the Gaucho tricolor, after his last stint between September 2022 and December 2024.
Renato Gaúcho had been without a club since leaving Vasco in June of this year. Even before the official announcement, he posted a message on his Instagram on Sunday, but deleted the image shortly after.
With the arrival of the new coach, Grêmio appears in 15th place in the Brasileirão table, with 28 points, the same number as Vasco and Internacional, which are in the relegation zone.
The club posted a welcome message on social media, quoting a phrase from Renato himself: "Grêmio doesn't call me. Grêmio summons me." The club stated that it was "time for us to live our glories together once again."
