The Quaest poll released this Monday reveals that 46% of Brazilian voters assess that the Banco Master scandal affects different Powers and political groups. The survey shows that the portion of the population pointing to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) as the most impacted by the case grew from 5% in July to 17% in September, indicating a shift in public perception about who suffers most from the scandal's consequences.
Among the political-institutional groups listed, the STF appears in second place with 17%, behind only the response "everyone" with 46%. Former President Jair Bolsonaro ranks third with 15%, followed by President Lula with 9%. The Central Bank was pointed out by 2% of respondents, Congress by 1%, and 1% believe none of them were affected. Another 9% said they don't know or didn't answer.
The scandal involves Daniel Vorcaro's bank, and the poll also measured voters' level of awareness about the case. According to the survey, 25% of respondents don't know about the scandal, while 48% assess they are well informed and 27% say they know about the case but are not up to date with the news.
The growth in the perception that the STF is the most affected occurs in the wake of the internal crisis that mobilizes the right and divides the court's ministers. The survey also indicates that 37% of voters assess that Minister André Mendonça is acting correctly in the confrontation with Minister Alexandre de Moraes, while 16% defend Moraes's position.
