Quaest survey released this Monday reveals that voter distrust of the Supreme Federal Court has risen ten percentage points since August. The survey, commissioned by GLOBO and TV Globo, shows that currently 56% of respondents say they "do not trust" the Court, while only 9% say they "trust very much" and 30% answered "trust a little." The overall margin of error for the survey is two percentage points.
The growth in distrust occurs amid the clash between ministers Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça within the STF. The data represent a significant change compared to August, when 46% said they did not trust the court, 18% trusted it very much, and 33% trusted it a little.
The survey shows that distrust of the Court increased across virtually all segments of the electorate, although with nuances according to political positions. Among respondents who identified as "Lulistas," 30% said they do not trust the Supreme Court, compared to 27% who said the same in August. The main variation within this group was the drop in the index of those who trust the court very much.
