Avante's presidential candidate, Augusto Cury, stated on Monday (14) that the country faces an institutional crisis that needs to be overcome through pacification and transparency. The statement comes on the eve of an extraordinary session of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), which will analyze the Federal Police report with messages exchanged between the former owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, and Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
Cury advocated that the trial be public, televised, and swift. For the candidate, voters need access to the information before the first round of elections, scheduled for October 4. He stated that he hopes the STF ministers will hold an open and rapid trial, arguing that without this information, voters would not have sufficient elements to decide their vote.
In the Quaest poll released on the same day, Augusto Cury appears in third place in the presidential race, with 7% of voting intentions. PT's presidential candidate, Lula, leads the poll with 36% of voting intentions.
