Microsoft launched a new code of conduct that imposes limits on the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence models. The document, developed over months by company researchers, spans 15,000 words and establishes guiding principles for AI creation.
The release coincides with commitments made by major AI laboratories to slow the development of the most advanced models, following a series of security incidents that raised widespread concerns about the existential risks of the technology.
According to Microsoft's document, AI models should not have rights or legal personality. Additionally, they should not be designed to escape human control or deceive users.
