Innovation in the Defence sector is undergoing a significant transformation, moving from a scarcity scenario to an excess scenario, which represents a new type of risk for the sector. This new risk arises from the difficulty in managing and selecting among the multiple options of technology and innovation currently available.
The article identifies the real challenge as being the building of bridges between three worlds that rarely intersect. The first group is made up of operators, people who deeply know the operational problems but do not always master the available technology.
The second group includes technology developers, people with advanced technical knowledge but who do not always understand the real application context. The third group, mentioned as funders, has the text interrupted before completing the description.
The central issue revolves around the disconnection between these three spheres: operations, technological development and funding. This lack of communication and integration between the different actors hinders the practical application of innovations in the Defence sector, creating barriers between the creation of solutions and their effective implementation.
