The facelift, also known as facial lifting or rhytidectomy, is no longer exclusively associated with elderly people. Patients between 35 and 55 have become a significant share of those seeking the procedure, looking to treat the first signs of sagging and achieve results that preserve their individual features.
Data from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery indicates that the participation of patients in this age group in facelift procedures increased from 26% to 32% in recent years. Among the surgeons surveyed by the organization, 67% believe the average age of these patients will continue to decrease in the future.
Despite this shift in profile, there is no ideal age for undergoing the surgery. The indication depends on the presence of changes that can be effectively treated by the procedure, such as loss of jawline definition, neck sagging, descent of facial tissues, and deepening of certain creases.
