Ricardo Batista moved up to third place in the World Triathlon Championship yesterday, after finishing fourth in the eighth stage of the world circuit, held in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The Portuguese athlete achieved this result which allowed him to ascend to the World Ranking podium.
With this result, Portugal now has two athletes in the top three places of the overall standings. Vasco Vilaça maintains the championship lead, reinforcing Portugal's position at the top of the international triathlon competition.
The Grand Final of the world circuit is scheduled for two weeks from now in Pontevedra, where the world champion will be decided. This final stage will be crucial in determining the final ranking positions.
At the same time, the Triathlon European Cup is also about to take place in Coimbra, an event that will complete the competitive calendar of Portuguese athletes during this period.
