OAB-RJ extends women's health action and extends deadline for scheduling free exams

oglobo14 September 2026 at 15:04

A OAB-RJ extended until September 30 the deadline for the women's health action carried out in partnership with Sesc. The Sesc Saúde Mulher mobile unit remains parked in front of the Order's headquarters, at Avenida Marechal Câmara 150, in downtown Rio, offering preventive exams and free mammograms to women.

The action, which began in March of this year, already accounts for more than 1,300 preventive exams and nursing consultations, in addition to nearly 1,800 mammograms performed. With the deadline extension, more women will have the opportunity to access the services offered by the project.

Services are provided Monday through Friday, on business days, from 9am to 5pm, by prior appointment. The extension aims to expand the reach of the initiative and ensure that more people can take advantage of the available time slots to have the exams done.

Why this matters

The extension allows more women in Rio de Janeiro to access preventive exams and free mammograms, especially those who cannot afford these procedures in the private network. The action addresses the pent-up demand for women's health in the region, offering services that can detect diseases such as breast and cervical cancer early.
