Águas do Centro Litoral will invest 5.5 million euros to make the infrastructure in the Lis basin more resilient. The announcement was made by Filipa Alves, who spoke to journalists on Thursday at the end of the last meeting of the monitoring committee created to evaluate the failure.
The monitoring committee was specifically created to follow up on the failure that occurred in August 2025 at the Monte Real pumping station. This Thursday's meeting marked the closure of the committee's work, which closely monitored the entire evaluation process.
The 5.5 million euro investment aims to ensure that the infrastructure in the Lis basin becomes more resilient, preventing similar situations in the future. Filipa Alves detailed the plans during her contact with journalists after the end of the meeting.
This investment represents a significant commitment by Águas do Centro Litoral to the rehabilitation and strengthening of the infrastructure system in the region, after the problems identified at the Monte Real pumping station.
