Atlético-PI conquered the unprecedented Brazilian Futsal Cup title by defeating Traipu on penalties 4-3. The final was decided on penalties, after a balanced match that required a shootout to determine the champion.
The Piaui team achieved the title in the most traditional Brazilian futsal competition. This achievement represents the first Brazilian Futsal Cup title for Atlético-PI, marking a historic moment for the club and for futsal in Piauí.
Traipu, the opponent in the final, also competed for the title of the main futsal competition in the country. The penalty shootout loss prevented the team from celebrating the title in this edition of the tournament.
The Atlético-PI conquest represents a milestone for Northeastern futsal, as a team from Piauí lifted the Brazilian Futsal Cup trophy for the first time in the history of the competition.
