Sweden finds itself in a delicate situation after extremely tight legislative elections. The progressive opposition secures a lead of just three seats in parliament, but emigrant votes still need to be counted, which could alter this narrow margin.
Conservative Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, who currently holds the position, has already begun exploring possible alliances that would allow him to remain in power. On the other side, his Social Democratic predecessor Magdalena Andersson is also seeking to form a coalition to try to recover the Executive.
With such a tight difference, the final result will depend on emigrant votes, which could prolong lengthy negotiations for the formation of the next Swedish government.
