Former British prime minister Boris Johnson escaped by minutes from a Russian drone attack in an area near the border with Poland. The diplomatic convoy he was in passed through the area shortly before a drone hit a locomotive, and authorities admit that the convoy could have been the target of the attack.
The convoy also carried former CIA director David Petraeus, as well as several international officials. The incident occurred when the group was on a diplomatic trip through the region.
Authorities are investigating whether the attack was specifically directed at the convoy where Boris Johnson was traveling, given the temporal proximity between the diplomat's passage and the drone impact. The attack occurred in a strategic area near the border with Poland, a NATO member.
