European Heritage Days bring community to discover future Traditional House of Erra

Correio do Ribatejo14 September 2026 at 10:50

The Municipality of Coruche, through the Municipal Museum, promotes on September 20, at 10:30 AM, at the Casa Tradicional da Erra, the initiative "Before opening the door — Memories to build the future Traditional House of Erra". The activity is part of the European Heritage Days.

The initiative invites the community to relive memories and participate in the construction of the future Museum Nucleus. The aim is to involve citizens in defining what should be included in this space dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the traditional heritage of Erra.

The Casa Tradicional da Erra emerges as a future project, whose development is being planned with the participation of the local community. This participatory approach allows inhabitants to contribute their memories and knowledge to shape the museum space.

Why this matters

Residents of Coruche and Erra have the opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation of local memory and to the future Museum Nucleus. This citizen participation in the European Heritage Days allows the community to directly influence how their own heritage and history will be told.
