APPJuventude and CIM Médio Tejo sign agreement to strengthen youth participation

Correio do Ribatejo14 September 2026 at 10:32

APPJuventude – Portuguese Association of Youth Professionals and the Intermunicipal Community of Médio Tejo signed on September 11th a Protocol of Institutional and Technical Cooperation. The ceremony took place at the CIM headquarters in Tomar.

The objective of this partnership is to strengthen youth participation in public decisions. The protocol is part of the project CRJ+ | Regional Youth Councils: from Idea to Practice.

The project is funded by the European Union. This collaboration aims to promote mechanisms that allow young people to have a greater voice and involvement in regional policies.

Why this matters

This partnership creates a formal framework for young people in the Médio Tejo region to actively participate in decisions that affect their lives, following the European Union's guidelines to strengthen youth citizenship. Residents of the region, especially young people, can expect more opportunities for civic engagement and influence in local policies.
