Thousands of people filled the International Circuit of Lousada for three days for the European Rallycross Championship, which this year was marked by unprecedented and historic nighttime qualification in the history of the competition.

Portuguese André Sousa, behind the wheel of an Audi A1, was one of the big highlights by winning on Saturday the first victory of the season in the RX3 category of the European Rallycross Championship.

In the main RX1 category, Swedish Johan Kristoffersson, a VW driver, achieved victory and now leads the European Championship with a 36-point lead over the second-place finisher.

The event in Lousada ended after three days with more than 60 races, also marked by the first nighttime race in the history of the FIA European Rallycross Championship and thousands of fans in the stands of the circuit.
