The new Palace of Justice in Beja is inaugurated this Tuesday, the 15th, in a ceremony scheduled for 11:00 with the presence of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro and Minister of Justice Rita Alarcão Júdice.

The building, valued at almost seven million euros, will house the Family and Minors Court, the Labour Court and the Civil Court of the District, as well as the Administrative and Tax Court.

The palace features differentiated areas for public and services, hearing rooms, archives, areas for detainees, offices for magistrates, registries and Public Ministry services.

The two wings of the building were designed to allow the functional autonomy of the Administrative and Tax Court in relation to the other functions.

Why this matters

The inauguration of a new Palace of Justice in Beja represents an investment of almost seven million euros in the judicial infrastructure of the Alentejo, directly affecting the citizens of the district who will now have modernized facilities concentrated in a single building, replacing the previous ones.
