Becky Jones received the diagnosis of a terminal brain tumor when she was just 21 years old. Doctors told her she had only a few months to live.
For 11 years, Becky underwent chemotherapy treatments, believing she was fighting terminal brain cancer.
At 34, she finally discovered she did not have a brain tumor. The correct diagnosis was tumefactive demyelination, an inflammatory condition of the brain that was not cancerous.
The misdiagnosis led to Becky receiving inadequate treatment for more than a decade, when her condition could have been managed differently.
