The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, ordered the removal of seals from investigations related to Banco Master, an order accepted by Minister André Mendonça. This decision occurs amid a crisis among ministers of the Court and aims to increase the transparency of the investigations. Among the cases already released are investigations into Flavio Bolsonaro involving the production company of the film about Jair Bolsonaro called "Dark Horse," as well as investigations into Ciro Nogueira, Jaques Wagner, and Cláudio Castro.
The decisions to remove seals, however, preserve the secrecy of ongoing investigative steps and court documents whose disclosure could harm the investigations. Thus, not all documents from the cases have been made public.
On another front, Minister Flavio Dino ordered on Sunday the removal of seals from another process in the Dark Horse case, related to the alleged misuse of parliamentary amendments to fund the feature film. This case is being processed separately from the investigations ordered by Fachin.
On Thursday, Fachin formally asked the case rapporteur, André Mendonça, to remove the seals from the procedures related to the Banco Master case, arguing for increased transparency of the investigations. The move happened amid pressure from members of the court for greater openness in the investigations.
