Rui Reininho, the well-known vocalist of the rock band GNR, was yesterday enthroned as an honorary brother of the Confraternity of Chanfana from Vila Nova de Poiares. The ceremony consisted of taking an oath to the noble cause of this gastronomic confraternity.
Beside the singer, mayor Nuno Neves also took an oath, thus becoming a member of the institution as well. Both were received as brothers during the event.
The Confraternity of Chanfana from Vila Nova de Poiares is an institution dedicated to the promotion of this traditional gastronomic specialty of the region, with enthronizations being customary to distinguish figures of recognized merit.
