The parliamentary hearings on the reform of the Court of Auditors (TdC) highlighted deep divergences among the participants. The debate focused on the new legislation that aims to change public financial oversight procedures.
On one hand, some participants warned of risks of "irregularities" arising from the proposed changes, expressing concern about a possible "legal vacuum" that could compromise oversight.
On the other hand, supporters of the reform argued that the new law will accelerate public procurement, considering it a "well-made law" that simplifies processes and revitalizes the management of public resources.
The hearings allowed for collecting different perspectives on the balance between administrative efficiency and financial control, in a process that continues to generate debate about the limits of decentralization of the Court of Auditors' competencies.
