Minister Flávio Dino, from the Supreme Federal Court (STF), lifted on Sunday (13) the secrecy on investigations into the financing of the film "Dark Horse," based on the trajectory of former President Jair Bolsonaro. He also brought to the STF investigations from the São Paulo Civil Police on the case, centralizing the inquiries at the higher court.
The initial investigations, conducted in São Paulo, stemmed from suspicions about a contract between the capital's city government and the Instituto Conhecer Brasil (ICB), an organization linked to Karina Ferreira da Gama. The contract provided for the installation of 5,000 Wi-Fi points in the city for R$157 million. The businesswoman allegedly diverted part of these funds for the film's production, since Karina also owns Go Up Entertainment, responsible for "Dark Horse."
Besides the diversion for the film, there are indications that part of the money was destined for other businesses linked to the businesswoman. The municipal administration is not a target of the investigations, which focus on the businesswoman's activities and her involvement with public funds.
With Dino's measures, at least four questions must be answered in the coming days about the case, related to the film's financing and the destination of the public funds allegedly diverted.
